"Connect" has been a key word on my
mind recently. Our trip away was an opportunity to connect with family
and professional colleagues. We came home last Wednesday just in time
for Community Cafe, and it provided a way to connect with many of you
after being away for a couple of weeks. Last week was also a week of
parties with a July 4th gathering at the VanDykes and a Summer Sunday
at the Tookes.
Ultimately, the most important connection is
between us and God. Yesterday's scripture reading got me thinking about
that connection with this verse: "Seek the Lord while you can find him.
Call on him now while he is near" (Isaiah 55:6). There are times when
God seems especially near and when connections are easy to make.

As I think about the people who've impacted my life the most it seems that all of them are very connected, not only to the Lord but to other people as well. There seems to be a generosity of spirit in people God has used in my life to help me connect.
